The Retreat Wine Bar, with its high ceilings, wooden floors and light open spaces is renowned for its stylish chic, yet home from home feel.

By day The Retreat offers a vibrant French style Bistro, attracting families, businessmen and locals. By night the bar offers a thriving night scene, attracting hundreds of young and old in equal measure.

Run by Mike and Lella Dey the vision from its opening in December 1982 was to attract and nurture a varied clientele, and an atmosphere where everyone can share a pint and a laugh together. That vision has ensured The Retreat’s rightful place as one of the most popular bars in Cheltenham, with its boisterous and vibrant charm, which offers a unique atmosphere, food and culture that still appeals to everyone.
